Basic pizza dough

Ingredients for 4 serves in 120 minutes

water 300.0 mililiters
sugar, white, granulated or lump 1.0 teaspoon
leavening agents, yeast, baker's, active dry 2.0 teaspoon
oil, olive 2.0 tablespoon
semolina, unenriched 100.0 gram
flour, wheat, white, all-purpose, unenriched 400.0 gram
salt 2.0 teaspoon

A basic, yet tasty pizza dough recipe, that will allow you to prepare two middle sized pizzas (or large sized, if you prefer extra thin).

Instructions how to prepare

  1. Pour lukewarm water into the bowl, add sugar mix it and spread the yeast over it and wait until it dissolves.
  2. Add olive oil, half semolina and wheat flour, salt and mix it well.
  3. Add the rest of the flour and knead for about 10 minutes.
  4. Leave it in a large bowl covered with clean cloth until it doubles in size (usually somewhere around 1 hour).
  5. To improve the taste even more, insted of letting it grow at room temperature - cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it grow in refrigerator over night. The slower the process, the more developed flavours will be. In that case remove it 2 hours before you are making your pizza.
  6. When it comes to baking, usually 7-9 minutes in 220*C will be the best bet for dough from that recipe.
